New Toy

'I've come here to show my wife hoovers', was Bb's rather unfortunate opening line in the shop, and I ribbed him about it afterwards on the way home with this new toy.

Our current hoover is still working fine for the tiled floors, but I miss having one with little parts that can be used to hoover the sofa, armchairs, and ssshhh, into corners and difficult-to-reach bits easily. This obsession with hoovering isn’t because I’m super fussy (although some would contest this - you know who you are!), but because our sofa can get dusty with having our patio doors open and I’m so allergic to dust that I can end up with terrible streaming eyes and nose and sneezing all day - an instant reaction to sitting on it. Not ideal for those coming winter months, when we'll be inside and at home more than usual and when a sneeze in the supermarket can make people disappear faster than abracadabra!

This baby has a handy detachable hand held section (bottom part), which takes an extendible tube attachment for getting into corners and creases; and that tube takes both a little brush and upholstery attachment. And all those attachments fold very cleverly into the body of the hoover, reducing the chance of losing them. Asleep yet? Of course, the real reason for the purchase is that I hope Bb likes it so much that he'll use it upstairs, while I use them old one downstairs and our housework will be done in half the time.

When I was considering the purchase and wondering if we could justify buying it or not, I realised that neither of us has bought a single piece of clothing all year....and still have far too much. Well, masks don't count.
