The view from Richmond Hill
This view, or similar, occurs in many of Turners paintings looking down to the river and towards Twickenham where he had a house. The view is always stunning whatever the time of year or the weather. Today I cycled past after a circuit of Richmond Park.
Richmond Park today was the busiest I have ever seen it...there were queues to get into the car parks at 2.30pm?! So many people walking, many I think may have come to see the deer as there has been quite a bit of publicity about them recently and the deer rut. I think BBC breakfast was filming in Bushy Park one day recently and there has been quite a lot on ‘Autumnwatch’ about deer too. Lots of photographers with long lenses and tripods. Also lots of impatient drivers who were certainly going more than the 20mph speed limit. We were pleased to get out of the park onto the quiet residential streets of Richmond Hill.
