European spindle berries

These red berries in the verges caught my eye as I cycled to the allotment for my hour of allowed exercise outside the house.
It was a lovely day today which I spent mostly outside on the terrace planting the climbers and bulbs we bought last week and tidying up summer plants. We will soon have to shelter fragile plants but no frost is forecast yet.
Sandy and Louise meanwhile drove to Grenoble to collect her clothes and books as she decided to lockdown with us as her classes are moving online.
