Hubble bubble
As a slightly different take on Halloween here’s a view of a long lasting experiment in the windows of the Edinburgh University King’s Buildings.
They are Winogradsky columns, a process devised in the 1880s to show how different microorganisms perform their independent roles (according to the notice in the window).
They’ve been there for as long as I can remember gently bubbling away: although “bubbling away” conveys far more activity than is actually visible.
Sad to hear of the death of a Sir Sean Connery. He’s been part of my life as long as I can remember. He was never inactive!
