Day 223 Halloween
As we did our special night yesterday, so that Violet could be included, today I've just photographed a round up of a few of our decorations. The pumpkin was carved to Violet's own design and the green skull is our picture provided for the Halloween Hunt. We did see quite a few children go by and like some of our neighbours, laid out individual sanitised bags of sweets out on a garden table for those who'd like to take. I'm pleased to say that we reloaded the table several times and all bags taken.
As the children weren't knocking, many parents put up pics of their costumed children on our private street Whatsapp group and they were a treat to see.
Not quite so nice were the teens caught on a neighbours cctv, who smashed one of their pumpkins in the street around 1am and no doubt were the ones who egged several houses at the top of the road.
In other news: today was the day the we learned that England is to go back into lockdown (when did we ever properly come out!) from Thursday until 2 December, although schools and other educational establishments will remain open. So no hairdressing appointment for me in November and no Santa steam train Special on 29 November for Violet. I do hope that they reschedule.
