Wandering and wondering

Without dog walks to do, I've been wandering the village.  It is only small so there are a limited number of routes.  Today I went via the centre of the village to the church yard.  This is the view looking torwards the rectory and a cluster of old cottages and yards.  The church is currently open for private worship but visitors must wear a mask and keep socially distanced.   What with Merlin, the lockdown and the grey damp weather, there was a definite sense of gloominess in the air.

Later I spoke with my sister to catch-up on her birthday cake-making dramas - sponges not going right and needing re-baking, chocolate sauce being too thick and not going on right which in turn required the fondant icing to be removed from the cake before it could be remade and put on correctly, then to top it all, dropping the chocolate covered strawberries on the way to the fridge.  Nearly as much drama as an episode of the Great British Bake Off!

Merlin has been very fragile again today.  He seems more settled as the day has gone on and has eaten and slept.  We shall take things one day at a time.  My best wishes to you all.
