Part of the Fairy Ring...

... I'm having a mushroomy day.
Simmering away on the stove is a mushroom ragu. It smells good. I was following a recipe. I always start off thinking 'I'll do exactly what it says'. And then, inevitably, it says 'two onions' and I only have a jerusalem artichoke, or it says 'celery' and I only have a parsnip. So, you make what you make. (And at least it's rarely the same twice). I must clarify that I didn't use the garden fungi; I've heard too many horror stories from people who actually know what they're doing to even attempt. 

I started the (say it quickly) miffmuff mopping today, oh the festive season is almost here (and what else to think about?)
Sigh.
