The glowing lamp of knowledge

More Indian women die in childbirth each year than in any other country. In Bhavnagar our local partner trains village midwives in safe birthing techniques and how to care for women during preganancy and during the post natal period.

70 Traditional Birth Attendants took part in recent training, they wrote afterwards: 'You have given us new direction with the help of the glowing lamp of knowledge. We will use the information back in our villages to save the lives of women and children.'
