LD 226 We will remember them

We are now in the run up to Remembrance Day but the pandemic means that the commemoration will be very different from previous years.

MSPs lay wreaths in their own constituencies and in Argyll & Bute there are services and events at memorials  the length and breadth of the very large area.   I usually try to  be in a different place each year and last year was in Campbeltown.

This year however in most of the country the level of restriction will not permit gatherings yet even so  considerable  imagination is being shown in order to try to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.   

Accordingly at some stage soon a  number of those who normally lay wreaths  in the area will do so one by one to a strict and separated schedule and be filmed .   That observance will be incorporated into a video service for showing on Sunday.   

Such is the determination to have no gathering or risk of one  that I cant even tell you where I will be doing that until it has happened but it does seem to be a good and imaginative way of ensuring that we do remember, despite the times.
