Seaside and Halloween
We decided to visit Blackpool illuminations on Halloween, seeing as the children couldn't go trick or treating. We thought it might be quiet (how wrong we were).
However we set off early and found a secluded area on the dunes to explore. The wind was very strong on the tops of the dunes, so much so we were all nearly knocked over and couldn't even get close to the sea.
I found a small dip that was protected from the wind and the children made tracks by sliding down the hill on their bottoms and then rolling their monster trucks down. They buried the monster trucks, made ramps and just generally had fun. It was a lovely way to spend some time together without another person around.
The illuminations although busy, were safe a wee stayed in our car and did not venture on the packed streets.
The illuminations whilst lovely, aren't quite as fun when you are stationary for most of them. We will go at a quieter time next year.
