Carbon

Having extolled the virtues of steel in my Blip on the 4th Nov, today’s image is almost all carbon (with the exception of the chain, chainring and tyre). This crank is the lightest available from a strength to weight perspective and the wheel just visible was the lightest available when first released in the early 2000s. The complete bike weighs a smidge over 5kg and is used by my son for hill climb races where comfort is not of paramount importance.
