That'll be the tide
Amazing weather, a beautiful Sunday afternoon and another trip to Cramond! We noticed the tide was coming in so we set off at a decent pace to get over to the island and up the hill, enjoying the views and the glistening water. Unlike some people, we didn't dawdle, and watching a small group get caught out by the tide became quite a spectator sport for those of us back safely on the shore. There was a lot of debate about whether they would stay on the island and wait until the next tide at 10pm or whether they'd wade across. A whole ten minutes into the debate, when they were still stood on the shore of the island and the water levels had risen significantly higher, they decided to make a go for it and started wading across. The people just to the left, with the wet trousers and no shoes are the waders, the rest are spectators who went for the front row seats. I just stood and waited for this photo opportunity.
