Common Enchantments

Walking the trail

It snowed overnight. The wind was gusty and it was in the 30s all day. Yes, we went hunting.

This trail is at the bottom of the hill we walk down and have to go up to the left to get to the deer blind. We had left a few windows unzipped so of course the snow blew in on our camp chairs. It made for a cold behind even after we got the snow off the seats.

The hunter did see a few deer but not close enough to shoot. No elk. I told him I think the elk have already migrated from this area as we have only seen two or three in the last ten days. They left after the first snow! I got a “look” for my opinion.

The snow melted some today so that means mud and slip and slide walking for the next couple of days. Or walking on frozen mud since the temps will be barely above freezing. With sunshine so that helps!

Five more days. Still hoping an elk walks by.
