Autumn surprise
One of those grey November days when it never seems to get properly light, and damp and chilly enough for MrM to light a fire mid-afternoon for the duration. So glad we managed a good walk yesterday!
No idea what this plant is! I acquired it from a stall on the local 'farmers' market' in the spring, on the strength of it supposedly being "vine-weevil resistant", though whether or not it is remains to be seen. Expected it to flower in the summer, and had thought it was dying off when the leaves started turning brown, but recently pink flowers have started to appear. They're supposed to be long and spiky - so far this one is about 2cm long, so waiting to see whether it will lengthen.
A cosy evening in front of the TV - the long-awaited first episode of 'The Subtle Knife' (the BBC adaptation of the Philip Pullman novel), and the last episode of Series 3 of 'The Bridge' (absolutely gripping! Thanks to Lucy for getting us hooked!).
