Sunlight and Color
There is a small group of us who are members of the same camera club who before the pandemic, met for breakfast once a month just to catch-up and talk photography. Since the pandemic, we have been doing Zoom calls every 3-4 weeks and have introduced challenges that we participate in and share during our calls. So far the challenges have included double/multiple exposures, impressionism, black and white, and for the. next one we are just doing autumn leaves. So I have been taking lots of pictures of leaves.
This was taken when we visited the Eisenhower Memorial this morning, Washington's newest presidential memorial. The memorial takes up a small block just across from the Air & Space Museum. We listened to the 45-minute audio tour which really enhanced the visit. I have loaded an extra of the D-Day section. Far and high behind the statue tableaux, you can get a glimpse of the steel tapestry that runs the entire block depicting Frank Gehry's drawing of the cliffs of Normandy with Pointe du Hoc at the center. Apparently, this is best seen at night.
