Bedtime reading

Lockdown 2.0 - day 6

I’ve had this book for ages, loaned to me by my Dad. I finally have the time to read it.
I’m traditional when it comes to books; keep your kindles and give me a paperback every time.

I’m functioning today on about 2 hours sleep; it’s so damned noisy on this ward! The nurse last night apologised and said because it’s an assessment ward, there will always be comings and going’s, but do they have to be so loud?!
An old lady was admitted last night, deaf as a post, so full on shouty conversations. The lights were on then off again. Then she was hungry so they made her some toast and a brew. Which she promptly threw up.
Every fidget disturbed her cannula which set off the alarm on her machine.
The nurses make such a racket at their station, they couldn’t hear it so I had to press my call bell to alert them.

The orthopaedic consultant has been to see me today. He’s reassured me that although I’m going to a limb reconstruction unit, that’s not what I’m having. Though it’s a complicated procedure for them to do here, it’s routine for Salford so I’m feeling much better about it. I should have been going there today, but they’ve not got a bed free so I’m being collected early doors tomorrow for my transfer to Manchester.

I can’t wait :-)
