A quiet lunch stop....
A lovely long walk with a friend today. Long in time more than distance but a good 8K. We took our own flasks of coffee and stopped in beautiful sunshine to enjoy it.
On the way back we visited this church and church yard to look at some commonwealth war graves. Christine’s father died in the last war at the age of 25 just before she was born. He had been given a war graves headstone but her mother sadly never received notification so didn’t get to have it placed on her husband’s grave. It is now in place and Christine is rightly proud. Her mother would have been too. She was a war widow for 62 years.
We chatted to the couple nicely framed here by the wall arch, having a quiet lunch before continuing their cycle ride. They’d found a sun trap in a very peaceful location. I had to sneak a photo as we left.
