my heart...

...is breaking

at the number of covid cases - both in hospitalizations and deaths - which are happening to my - fellow americans, across the country, numbers exceeding - 100,000 per day now - affecting families in ways - which are unimaginable to me - i find it unnerving - the current leader of our country - hasn’t expressed a word - of compassion towards these - individuals who have been impacted - or the families who will not have - a member at their tables - during the coming holiday season - no extension of sympathy - for the struggle of what an extended - illness does to a family - how it might impair wages - burden loved ones with caregiving - not one word of kindness towards them

nor has he expressed a word on the fundamentals - of what washing hands can do - the wearing of a face covering - the maintenance of social distances - to help protect not only self - but those around you

i don’t enjoy being heartbroken - by numbers or the actions of others - however, i am encouraged by the fact - that i have a big abba - who tells me he is in control - of all things

he is before all things, and by him all things hold together. (colossians 1:17 esb)

this gives me hope - and it also makes me know - it can still be...
