Preening and Drinking

Very heavy rain overnight, but there was a break in the weather in the morning, perfect for a walk. It was spitting when I started walking but it didn't last. Fresh air and exercise, just what the doctor ordered.
A pair of swans arrives in the harbour every fall. I assume it's the same pair. I'm fairly cautious around them because our daughter got attacked by one when she was little, but these ones are quite tame. I've seen a couple of people tossing seed to them, so maybe that's why. Don't bite the hand that feeds you?  
There's been a cougar sighting on our end of the island, but not close to us. Not the first time one has managed to swim across Sansum Narrows from Vancouver Island. Bears sometimes do as well.
