Preying!!! #3

We slept pretty well, didnt rush to get up........I went downstairs to start some breakast, then hub called "whats that on the back lawn..... might be a sparrowhawk?!" It sure was!!!

A quick dive for my camera, had to swap lenses too. but he was busy with his prey....a poor starling I think! Sorry if you find this a bit horrid to see, but its nature at the end of the day :-/ Once he was sure his catch was dead, he began to pluck the feathers, at which point I went outside and it flew off, prey & all.

The weather has been mostly wet, but very mild and got worse as the day has gone on!

We went into town in the car, collected hubs paper, called into the bakery, stopped at Costa for a coffee, which we drank sat in the car. Then we drove to the farm for some eggs and various vegetables. Then back home.....a latish lunch, egg n bacon barm, hit the spot.

Ive made some vegetable soup this afternoon.

Hubs been watching the golf, the horse racing and now Battlestar Gallactica.....whilst munching another piece of chocolate fruit cake. Its 4.20, pretty dark now, but there is a strange pink hue to the sky, bearing in mind we haven't had any sun to speak of today.

Dinner to be decided.........chicken something or other, who knows. See what we feel like later.

Strictly tonight.....funny how the days seem long, yet the weekend programmes come around so fast!

My first father in laws funeral is next Tuesday morning, not sure if I am going to be able to make it yet :-/ Youngest son has spent today with his Dad at his grandads house helping get things ready.
