Diary of an Edinburgher

Free Art!

Look what we spotted while going round the block this morning. Free art! Guess which one I took home, and it was readily accepted by JR.

Archie went off with Elizabeth, Chrissy arrived to go to lunch with us, and we walked across the Meadows to one of our favourite restaurants which seemed to close down completely during the first lockdown. But no, it opened again, looking just the same.

In fact, the busy, bustling, crammed restaurant that we liked, is now too busy, too bustling, and too crammed for the COVID era. The tables were too close together, and there was no fresh air.

We did mention our concerns to the waiter, who opened a window, but he said that during the week, they were almost empty, so needed to make it up at weekends. It’s tough being in business in these times. We left as soon as we’d finished.

I came home to watch the England game, having missed the Scotland game. No worries - plenty more games coming up.

I’ve had my first chocolate Santa of the season. And it’s not even December yet.
