Suddenly

It's funny how this Mahonia spends the year in  corner of the garden, unnoticed. Then suddenly on a gloomy November morning you see that it has the most lovely yellow flowers. 

This is the picture  that is currently on the calendar in the kitchen. It's a photo I took on this day last year when we were in Cornwall with our daughter and son-in-law seeing their new cottage. Imagine - we travelled by train and plane. Maybe this time next year all that has happened will be long forgotten.
