Coloured crates

It is wonderful to be able to wander down to the harbour, through the old streets of Newlyn, and buy fish fresh from the boats. We got Lemon Sole - my favourite. Gordon is cooking it now.

As you can see, it has been a bit of a damp day - not much rain, but on and off drizzle. That wasn’t a problem as we had intended staying put today. After buying fish, we wandered along, watched Turnstones down by the boats, found some great, informative and friendly people at Newlyn Archives. They have a massive amount of records there and they also have some interesting local books, including the one that ValC found when she was down here last,  a super book of walks around the old town with lots of fascinating information. (Thanks Val) As well as fish, books and information, within a short distance of the house, we found: the best ever coffee, excellent Cornish pasties and two old wells. What more could one want!!

Later we ventured out again, wandered by the sea and had a fine cream tea.
