Tiny Tuesday . . . Port Wine Magnolia

This shrub is grown for the heavy, sweet scent that really is like port and rich chocolate.  It is too strong to have inside and just photographing it made me feel stuffy.   The flowers are small but there are masses of them amongst the glossy green leaves.  The plant was given to us as a house warming gift by our son Sam when we moved in nearly four years ago.  It was just a stem and I have nursed it through two droughts and finally it looks like a healthy plant and has masses of flowers.
