Diary of an Edinburgher

Poser!

Robert came this morning. What a good man - I did text him to say the weather wasn’t too nice, maybe he’d rather stay in bed, but he’s never put off. Anyway, by the time he came, it had cleared up, and it was indeed, not even cold. When he came back, we were able to sit outside and have a cuppa.

JR went off to that huge blue Danish Swedish Scandinavian superstore. She wanted a couple of cushions, possibly a round mirror, maybe a bedside lamp, and (my request) some of their famous cinnamon buns.

I watched another episode in the 90s series ‘This Life’. I’m enjoying it, and at 40 minutes, it keeps me going longer than usual. I’ve noticed another thing different from the 2020s - all the young men have clean fresh faces - no stubble. Nice.

In the afternoon, JR went off to meet up with an ex-colleague and her baby. I stayed home to watch some tennis. But then I decided to pop over too, so Archie and I hurried there. I could see the lovely sunset, in fact, it was just behind the venue, but despite my hurrying, I missed it. I said hi and left them to it and Archie and I walked through Bruntsfield. The shops look very inviting - they’ve really made an effort and it all looks quite Christmassy.

We watched the kids’ cycling class - it’s often there in the Links, with a group of kids whizzing along and up and down and round behind the leader, who is shouting instructions. I passed the finished group and stopped to ask if he did lessons for adults. And then I remembered - it’s no use, I’ve lost it.

I wanted to do some nighttime (it was about 4.30pm lol) shots - I’d forgotten how good the iPhone is in low light. Archie was such a good boy and sat there while I fiddled around and took lots of shots, because he’d sometimes move a bit.

Now- let’s finish off The Crown this evening.
