Green pepper

Today's the day ………………….. to hang on in

I'm posting this blip of my green pepper today - because I'm not sure how long it will keep growing.

It was grown from seed back in the early days of Lockdown - and when I say 'seed', they were seeds out of an actual pepper that I had in the kitchen.  It was the only seed that germinated - so the plant was special right from the start.  Of course, I was too late in planting it and although it carried on growing just the way a pepper plant should, the end of the summer arrived before it was properly ready.

So I took it indoors out of the greenhouse, where it has continued growing - but not in a happy way.  The leaves are falling off it now and the flowers are withering.  There's just this one green pepper on it that, although a bit squashed, is nevertheless a thing of beauty.

I'm not sure though, when the time is right - whether I'll be able to bring myself to cut it off, chop it up - and eat it …………………..?
