Hot chocolate
Oh my gosh, were they tired when I collected them. Their own fault, messing around until about 8.30 in their 'dens' (under their beds) until they were told it was stopping and into their own beds (cue tears). They'd been warned several times....
Hot chocolate was needed as soon as we were in the door to restore spirits and bring some general happiness to young minds that were a little negative and argumentative. It worked - spellings were done in good humour and so hopefully he's ready for tomorrow. There were tears about not being able to do homework until the weekend - we have to build something...
The husband was on puppy duty last night, which requires a 2am wake-up to take the puppy outside. For some unknown reason, the husband decided to take a trip down the street (not with the puppy) to investigate a banging noise that he could hear, which is fine, except I heard the door open and the cat come upstairs, and realised the front door had been left open, so went down and closed it with the husband outside. Thankfully, I was still awake when he came back, but it has amused me that I locked him out at 2am....
Today I'm grateful for
An hour and a half in the garden at lunch time sorting a few things out
Bumping into a friends mother at the market this morning, which was lovely in itself, and then having an evening chat with my friend in New York.
Hot chocolate, and the wonders it brings - especially when you find some marshmallows at the back of the cupboard...
