BLUE-WINGED TEAL

This is a Blue-winged Teal (Anas discors); drake. Shot at the Sheboygan Marsh last April. Beautiful bird in the same Genus as the common Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) only quite a bit smaller.

One of the first waterfowl to arrive in the early Spring and also one of the first to leave the area in the Autumn.

A note of explanation: Due to the Nikon D500's 1.5x crop factor, 550mm is misleading. 550 x 1.5 = 825mm effective focal length.
