Rainy school day

The day started out beautifully and gradually got worse and worse.  Unfortunately, it started raining whilst the husband and I were out for a lunch time walk and we got a little wet.  Rain also seems to send all the school run parents crazy, with parking being an even stranger activity than normal... We tend to park a little way off and have a walk - the boys loved my umbrella and I have frizzy hair to prove it.

The eldest did really well in his spellings this week, we practised a lot - I'm trying to show him that practice is a good thing, he can sometimes be a bit hot headed and refuse to do something if it isn't sinking in first time (no idea where he gets that one from...!)

Musical beds last night.  I had to get up for the puppy in the night (pretty unpleasant) I was so awake that I had a cup of tea, did some work that needed to be done by a morning deadline, then went back to bed, but to the eldest's bed as he was in my bed my that time.  I woke up to find the youngest was in my bed as well by the morning.  The only one who managed to stay put was the husband.

Tried putting the puppy into his harness for the first time to rather hilarious results - both boys were desperate to lead him on the lead.  Given the fight the puppy was having just having a harness on, the boys were told that today wasn't the day for leading the dog round the garden in perfect fashion.  We're a while off that happening it seems!

Today I'm grateful for:
Gently pushing back on a few things work-wise where I would previously have been worried about
Almost finishing the Christmas shopping, few annoying things left.  surprising to see that it's already pretty hard to get Christmas decorations!
The eldest spending time this week on his spelling and seeing the benefit - he asked to read at bed time tonight
