A Shapinsay nissen hut
A successful day working on Shapinsay.
After beautiful skies first thing (see extra) it turned grey and overcast. The rain started early afternoon and the wind got up, so it was rather a bouncy crossing back to Kirkwall. Luckily it takes less than half an hour, so barely time to turn green.
I had to stop and admire this nissen hut. There are many of them on Shapinsay, generally used as sheds and looking a bit the worse for wear. I think this one looks as if it might be quite cosy inside.
