34-Year-Old Hibiscus

One of Eric's students gave him this plant as a seedling years ago when he was teaching at Boise Elliot Elementary. It was a bedraggled mess for much of that time. Way too leggy and in the way. Each summer we'd put it outside with other houseplants. But this summer, he decided to put it in the full sun and it came to life. It's been the most amazing transformation, blooming continuously. Now that we've brought all the plants back inside, and are featuring it in the south-facing living room window. We've had 2 or 3 new blooms each day or so for weeks. Sometimes you just have to break old habits and routines.
