More about the flooded rivers and meadows

Yesterday, Bundle received a comment from MariaInWales about the state of flooding here, and Bundle herself wondered how the floods were here, in our part of town.. This my attempt to .provide clarification!

The viewpoint of this photograph is meant to be close to that of my entry for Boxing Day. You should be able to recognise the pylon, and the line of trees to the left.. The Boxing Day entry has links to a satellite picture that shows where I was standing both on 26 December, and roughly where I was today.

I had also shown some flood pictures on Christmas Day itself.

What you are supposed to notice is that on Boxing day, the little stream by te trees had flooded over into the field. Today, there is indeed residual water where there should be none, but the water from the stream itself appears to have receded out of view. There even seems to be someone sitting on a bench to the right of the trees, enjoying the warmth of the sun. We also basked for a short period near the duck pond.

So I hope that today.s picture shows the situation as it is now, and that MariaInWales will see that the rain falls occasionally even east of the Welsh Border!
