another day, another delivery

The final delivery (we hope) of the blocks for the carpark and driveway.  The last few yards to the road are a real mess at the moment.  The heavy rain has turned the clay soil and builders' sand into a sticky goop.

Even more good news on the new neighbours front; as well as the wee dog, they have, according to Dave the builder, "excellent taste in music".  By that he means, Hendrix, Neil Young and so on.  (It turns out Dave - who is at least 30 years younger than us - also has excellent taste in music).

He discovers all this while sorting out a few snags in their kitchen.  He tells them what nice neighbours we are and that he thinks they're going to like living next door to us.

All this takes place apparently, while listening to Jimi Hendrix Live at the Isle of Wight Festival  (on vinyl) with an electric screwdriver in one hand and a glass of red wine in the other.

It would seem that the days of home-made biscuits in return for wee jobs are over.
