Gloomy start
Lovely blue skies and sunshine now but not so this morning at 7.30 when I set out to walk with my neighbour in the dark!
A bit of brightness at Sandybanks Garden Centre with their Christmas decorations reflecting across the damp car park.
From here, across the road and down to Wilsden Beck the relatively new bridge with it’s red wood looked to be illuminated. The previous bridge washed away in the floods earlier this year though that itself it was a fairly recent replacement of stepping stones.
Up through very gloomy Cottingley Woods and past the Folly before dropping down to Beckfoot and the golf course. Walked back to the village through the lower St Ives woods for a bit more shelter than Low Park as the damp had increased to rain.
A good walk, in good company so the rain didn’t matter much. Sometimes you get the best of the day at the beginning and other times not!
