Bingley
Chris and I hit the best part of the day this morning walking around Bingley. As we drove down in the sunshine there was a hint of mist still hanging around in the valley bottom.
Walking around the top end of the town and then down to the Leeds Liverpool canal, we stopped at the 5 Rise Cafe for a takeaway coffee.
Sitting on a bench looking down the Five Rise Locks in the sunshine was very pleasant. Our view in the other direction was across the Aire Valley to the St Ives Estate, the scar of the recent tree destruction in Betty’s Wood (to eliminate disease) standing out well from here. Extra
I liked this slightly moody look into the sun at the top of the locks, Damart mill stands out at the bottom in the town.
On our way back to town along the canal we saw 3 Goosanders and a Heron. A good morning.
