Hulme Park

Lynne and I invaded the Duke’s parkland today for a great 7 mile walk. Towers, priory, sculptures, beautiful wrought iron gates, the river - it was varied and interesting. I’d only done some of it before and that was years ago.

I was a bit late in leaving as #2 daughter is on a fix. Her husband has been offered a job in Glasgow. A promotion for him BUT she is the principal wage earner and has no qualifications in Scots law. They have just got James calm and settled after a difficult start at school. They are all happy where they are but he can’t get promoted in his hospital. His work is very specialised. She wants to show willing and thinks she’s do the exams to qualify for work in Scotland at a future time. But there’s no guarantee she’d get a job there anyway. Hopefully things will resolve themselves without a drama. I told her to tell him it’s the law that if you live in Scotland you have to support them at rugby.
