Flower Friday . . . Pretty Poppies

I am fond of these garish, red poppies that self seed in my garden.  They make me think of chorus girls with flouncing petticoats and lurid red lipstick.  
This evening we are celebrating a friends 70th birthday.  How did that happen  that we young things have a friend that old.  I have been to the plant shop and bought 6 herb plants for Graham's birthday gift.  He recently had stents put into his heart and isn't drinking so what to buy and don't anyone mention Christmas shopping.
