Lambs' tails
Also known as Catkins. The Hazel has been around since the end of the Ice Age and a branch of Hazel was supposed to ward off evil spirits. Thatchers still use hazel to peg down the straw. Then of course there are the delicious hazel nuts.
The bank manager came to look at the farm today and then go through the finances. Always a slightly stressful time! After he had left we went for a glorious walk in the sunshine.
The beef animal is still down although it tried to get up, but couldn't quite make it to the standing position. It is still eating and drinking. The vet and knacker have been booked in for tomorrow morning if there is no change. It is always a ghastly time when there is sick animal and we try and do all we can for it.
