As normal as it gets

Our afternoon went a bit awry and dinner didn't quite work out as it should, for various reasons.  So it was chips from the chip shop, which is about as 'normal' as I think things get at the moment. Yesterday's news seems to have taken any joy out of everything with lockdown essentially not ending at all and it suddenly feels as if there isn't any end in sight.

Some work this morning, which has put the masters on the back-burner for the day, so plenty to do over the weekend (along with the housework, some DIY jobs, childcare etc...), sometimes it just never ends..

Boys were super tired this evening.  The eldest did well in his spellings - which is great! There was a kerfuffle when I picked the boys up with a parent very unhappy about something, lots of tears, shouting and concerned teachers.

In other news, it was last day in the job for the husband today, he starts a new job on Tuesday, it's been a bit strange ending a job in lockdown, he is off to his new office on Tuesday, which is good as I think you pick up so much more when in the office than sat at home.

Today I'm grateful for:
The eldest coming out early in the morning to play with the puppy - he's up and out at about 6.30 each
The youngest coming to get chips with me and his wonder at being outside at 'night time'
Lovely chat with an old friend - so much nicer to call friends rather always be in touch by messages.
