River Beult (pronounced Belt)

Unexpectedly glorious weather. The forecast wasn’t great and it was dull as the sun rose as a ruby ball through the mist.

By the time we were ready to go out it was fully sunny with only gentle winds. We walked from Linton to Yalding through the Vale of Kent, returning to Linton along the Greensand Way, stopping for lunch in Yalding and collecting a few apples that were still on the trees in the many orchards we passed through.

The last time we did this walk was the weekend before the first lockdown in March. Who could have predicted what has happened in the eight months since then.

In March our walk ended with passing through marvellous plum blossom. Today, we were very disappointed to find the whole orchard had been grubbed up! https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2688118016163446836
