Vicars Mural

Marrickville Metro Shopping Centre retained a couple of relics of Vicars Woollen Mills - the external brick wall and an 1864 cottage which now houses centre management. For some reason Alex Lehours’ mural commemorating Vicars, its workers, and the traditional owners is hidden from sight. Today the only sign of life was an ibis. Nearby was a roast chicken still in its crinkly supermarket bag, an empty cigarette pack and a sign saying Please Do Not Dwell in This Area.
