Never smile
At a crocodile
I learnt a new word from blip today, I already knew the meaning, but not the word. Pareidolia
My example of Pareidolia is not as good as this one
If Harry Stocracy were a Disney Character he would have the eyes of Ka from Jungle Book and the smile of the Crocodile from Peter Pan
... Continuing the story of last weekend.
I'm sure you're all hoping there was a climax to the Saturday night....
I was just drifting off to sleep when I heard the door handle rattle and the door creaked open...
"Hugankiss, I've come to say goodnight"
"Goodnight Harry, your bedroom is on the next floor!! End of."
On Sunday morning more visitors were due, the butler turned chauffeur and collected them from the station.
Harry had some business to attend to, his wife and the other guests were still in bed, so he asked me to take them for a tour.
Ros was escorting a young lad who was coming to stay for a week's work experience with the horses.
Ros is the inspirational founder of a charity called Ebony Horse Club.
Based in Brixton, the club has enabled inner city children to learn to ride and help with the 7 ponies they have.
The outcomes from her lifetime of dedication are astounding in terms of students, like the young autistic lad I met, going on to college to study animal care and equine studies. Some former students have even taken up careers in racing stables.
Children are taken on days out and some go pony trekking in Wales for a week. There are after school clubs and weekend activities. Children of all abilities, including those with complex additional needs are included and many children's lives have been turned around by giving them an absorbing activity for their free time.
From starting out with nothing, the charity now has to raise £30,000 per month just to stand still. If you would like to learn more here is a link to the Ebony Horse Club
I am hoping to make a visit to Ebony Horse Club in the near future.
Meeting Ros was, for me, a fantastic and unexpected climax to the weekend and as for Harry Stocracy, he has a wonderful, generous side to him that many don't get to see.
