Breakfast Woes

Instructions to make supermarket own-brand instant porridge:

1. Boil kettle and peel back lid of pot
2. Add boiling water to fill line
3. Stir well & leave to stand for one minute. Enjoy!

They missed a step.

4. Stare mournfully at what you have made: oaty soup (not porridge). Re-read instructions 1 to 3. Wonder how you woefully misjudged instructions. Discover you didn't. Ponder the mystery that made the supermarket food designers think oaty soup equals porridge. State sadly into oaty depths of the pot of sugary water you will now consume for breakfast. Dream of bacon whilst spooning oaty soup into your mouth. Blip about it.
