Roseate fingers of the dawn

As accredited to Sir Terry Wogan who used to refer to the streaks of pink light illuminating the early mornings as I drove to work.

We had a few tidying up jobs around the house (inevitability) before the estate agent came to give a valuation of our house. I set a few hares running about the best way to fund the move. We’re at the crucial point to commit to putting the house on the market and it’s a big step!

After lunch we had a successful trip walking into town and back to requisition some Christmas supplies. Ordered a leg of pork to make a ham and bought a great selection of nutty snacks, some Christmas cards from the Charities Card Shop in the Methodist Church and a large quantity of stamps to affix on the cards.

Town was very quiet with most people conforming to requirements. Only one or two groups of schoolchildren seemed to be oblivious of their impact.

Am I the only one to think this 5 day Christmas arrangement is ill thought through. Why is everyone having to travel on the same 5 days? Won’t it be chaotic? Why not allow people to travel any 5 days out of, say, 10? Keep the other arrangements the same and permit people to make informed decisions. Those who conform will conform, those who want to do their own thing will continue to do so anyway.
