A London day

London for the day (half a day really, back for the puppy...).  Hair cut and a meeting.

Decided what the hell to the hair cut and have lost about 6 inches, now sporting a very smart, short bob, which will probably look a lot less smart when I have to deal with it!

Snapped this picture when I was coming out of my meeting, this would normally be full of lunch time diners, or hosting evening dinners, instead, the room has had a new floor and is being painted by the house manager, who has plenty of time to do it himself rather than pay someone else! It is one of those strange times when the reality of life at the moment comes crashing down.

Before and after school club for the boys,  They loved it, thankfully they think it is a treat - the husband did point out it is the only time they get to play with any other children.  I tried a new tactic with them when we got home - and inevitably tiredness hit them and they had an argument over nothing.  Instead of telling them off, I told them how well they had done and how nicely they had got up and out this morning - which made them really proud of themselves (and stopped the fighting very easily).  I didn't employ the same tactic when the youngest drew on my (cream) jumper, we had a chat about how that maybe isn't such a good idea...

Today I'm grateful for:
The boys loving after school club, makes it all a treat rather than a chore
The puppy seemingly being ok being left (there was some mess to clear up and a quick floor wash, which was expected, but other than that, all fine)
The husband going shopping at lunch time and getting the few bits we need - without being asked! He also slipped in some chocolate, which has been a nice addition to the evening...
