First Winter Snow

There was only a smattering to be seen from the window and there wasn't much to be found until the very top of the moor. It turned out that most of the snow had been dropped to the south. The view looking north was altogether less wintry.

The underfoot conditions were desperate. Inches of slush lay on top of many more inches of wet peat and icy water. I took it very slowly but I would have been very lucky to have made it back without taking a dive at some point, which I did, of course. Fortunately, I banged my good knee! A price worth paying.
