Broken promise

I am in Edinburgh just for a few hours on my way to Gatehouse of Fleet. Walking along Princes Street with my wife I turned around to look at the Scots Monument and took this photo just outside the famous Balmoral Hotel.

My wife then reminded me that when we were dating as students I had promised to buy her the Balmoral Hotel. Call it a desperate ploy to woo her or ambitious goals. Either way, it's a broken promise.
