Shop local

More thunder and torrential rain threatened to deter shop local Saturday shoppers. I need not have worried. The High Street was buzzing with queues of the socially distanced - some lurking in doorways or under trees to shelter from the heavy squalls. The market was also the biggest of the year and very busy. We were pleased with our local purchases.

We walked home along the promenade where the beach was strewn with driftwood thrown up by the storms that accompanied the recent thundersnow.

It was lovely to hear our oldest grandchild rehearse his school presentation on the Egyptians in the early evening. We also saw their stylish Christmas tree! What would we do without these video calls!
