Euston dawn

I slept really well on the overnight train to Euston. It actually arrived an hour and a half early. I had breakfast part one in my “room” on the train brought by a very apologetic host who admitted that they all preferred the previous old stock that worked properly. There are still significant teething issues with the brand new stock.

Breakfast part two was with our youngest son who was on his way to work at Seven Sisters. I took a very crowded tube to Bank and a slightly less busy DLR driverless train to Canary Wharf. As a kid I looked at books with skyscraper cities and robotic transport systems. Some 60 years later that fiction has become fact! My meetings in the former dock lands went very well.

In the late afternoon I took a train from Paddington to the Cotswolds for dinner with some of the board ahead of our full board meeting in the morning.
