Sampler

Another wet, wet day in Tier 3. At least we crossed the threshold though, even if it was just do the weekly shop. Have to say, I’m really glad we had the roof repairs done last week.
So it was a scan through the weekend Guardian for me then back to the Plätzchen recipe books. First off, chocolate-cherry-balls (Schoko-Amarena Kugeln) but I think I had the wrong chocolate and definitely had the wrong cherries so a major recipe variation was called for. Even then, my doubts about the baking instructions were well founded (yes, chocolate melts in the oven) so a second variation, involving cocoa and the fridge, was called for. This is the trial, a bit too big but not bad. End result - really tasty but soft Kugeln and a couple of hours wasted getting there!
By contrast, the coconut and apricot Plätzchen took next to no time and were no hassle at all. It all evens out I guess.
Oh and the Jambos got back on the winning trail today and moved to the top of the league. Long may that continue.
